Mr. Sarmad Kazzaz is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with specialist expertise in spinal and paediatric orthopaedic surgery. With a career dedicated to delivering high-quality care in complex orthopaedic conditions, Mr. Kazzaz has established himself as a trusted expert in his field. He holds a consultant position at Frimley Park Hospital, where he has been practising since 2016.
Born in Nottingham, Mr. Kazzaz qualified in medicine in 1999 and went on to complete his higher surgical training in London. During his training, he spent two years on the renowned spinal unit at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, dealing with a wide range of complex adult and paediatric spinal conditions. He further enhanced his academic credentials by obtaining a Master’s degree in trauma surgery from Swansea University, alongside the prestigious FRCS (Tr & Orth) and the European Board of Orthopaedic and Traumatology (EBOT) qualifications.
Mr. Kazzaz undertook two advanced surgical fellowships to further specialise in his areas of interest. At Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust, he completed a comprehensive fellowship in spinal surgery, where he gained extensive experience in managing complex back and neck conditions, including lumbar and cervical decompression and fusion, cervical disc replacement, spinal trauma, and vertebroplasty/kyphoplasty procedures. He also performs spinal injections and offers management strategies for chronic back and neck pain.
His advanced fellowship in paediatric orthopaedic surgery was completed at the world-renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Here, he gained significant expertise in managing complex paediatric limb deformities and abnormalities, including cerebral palsy and syndromic conditions. His paediatric practice includes treating conditions such as developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH), clubfoot, limb and gait abnormalities, as well as providing Botox injections for children with cerebral palsy to improve their mobility and quality of life.
Mr. Kazzaz’s clinical excellence is further demonstrated by his outstanding academic achievements. He was awarded the prize for best performance in the EBOT exam in 2014, a recognition of his deep knowledge and surgical expertise. He has authored numerous national and international peer-reviewed publications and regularly presents his scientific research at conferences worldwide.
