Mr Muddassar Hussain, Consultant Urologist, works within the Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. He is highly specialised in all aspects of urology including male and female urinary symptoms, prostate cancer diagnosis, stone disease, incontinence, men’s sexual health, scrotal and penile abnormalities, and treatment for bladder/kidney/testicular cancers. He is also very skilled in performing tertiary regional laparoscopic and robotic surgical procedures for kidney issues, with experience with both Intuitive’s da Vinci and CMR’s Versius robotic platforms.
Mr Hussain began his medical education at King’s College London, where he graduated in 2006. He then went on to do his basic medical training and specialist surgical training in the Southeast of England. This was followed by advanced training in urology throughout the Southeast of England for 5 years, during which he undertook 2 year-long fellowships in the management of complex stone disease and complex open renal surgery. During his training, he also undertook a Master’s degree in Urology from UCL. He went on to do a further fellowship on robotic and laparoscopic kidney surgery at his current NHS Trust before being appointed to his current position.
Mr Hussain has been appointed cross-site Urology Lead for Clinical Governance and as Department lead on Frimley Park Hospital’s Clinical Effectiveness and Audit Committee. He is an active researcher with numerous peer-reviewed publications and invites to present his findings globally. He continues in his role as the Principle Investigator in a trial establishing the role of 3D-reconstruction software in surgery for renal cancer patients.
