Dr Isuri Kurera

I’ve been a Consultant in Diabetes and Endocrinology since 2020, providing both inpatient and outpatient care at Frimley Park Hospital. I also serve as an honorary bariatric physician at specialist management services at Ashford and St Peters Hospital.  

I am the Clinical Lead for Obesity at Frimley Integrated Care Board this allows me to work closely with primary care and community leads and I am also a panel member of the recently established Frimley complex metabolic disease MDT. 

I’m extensively involved in quality improvement initiatives, developing clinical pathways for diabetes, endocrinology, and obesity. As a published author and speaker at national conferences, I’m committed to advancing knowledge in my field and share the knowledge with the peers. Outside of clinical practice, I advocate for individuals living with obesity and metabolic syndrome, aiming to provide both treatment and empowerment to help them manage these complex conditions.

In 2023, I received the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, recognising my contributions to medical education and leadership in obesity care.
